🌻 A Note from Mrs. Meyer

Welcome to another exciting school year at Winfield Primary!

Our staff has spent the summer learning, planning, and preparing for an amzing year with your children. We are excited to welcome back both returning and new families and can't wait to see our hallways filled with smiling faces again.

Our school theme this year is "Plant Kindness, Grow Greatness". Throughout the year we'll be encouraging students to plant seeds of kindness through their words and actions while growing into respectful, responsibile, and confident learners.

🌱 Ensure your child is ready for Back-to-School Night

We want to make sure every kindergarten student has a smooth start to their first year of school!

📚 Register as soon as possible so we can get ready to welcome our newest Warriors! ❤️🖤

📘 Student Handbook

We want our families to have easy access to the Winfield Primary Student Handbook. Please take a few minutes to review the handbook so you are familiar with our school and district expectations, procedures, and important information.

A handbook sign-off sheet will be sent home with students on the first day of school. Please review the handbook and return the signed form to school.

Prefer a paper copy of the handbook? Just send a message through ParentSquare to Mrs. Meyer or Mrs. Madison, and we will send a copy home with your student.

Thank you for partnering with us to help make sure our families are informed and prepared for a successful school year!

🌿 Planting Seeds of Leadership: The 7 Habits

Throughout the year, Winfield Primary will be teaching students The 7 Habits of Happy Kids.

Each month we'll focus on one habit through classroom lessons, morning meetings, books, and school wide activities. As students learn each habit, they'll discover practical ways to become leaders, solve problems, make good choices, and build positive relationships.

Our goal is to create habits that last a lifetime: not just at school, but at home and in our community!

📱Stay Connected

To reduce paper usage and improve communication, many school updates will be shared electronically this year.

Please make sure you're connected to:
✅ParentSquare
✅Infinite Campus Parent Portal

These tools allow you to receive announcements, classroom updates, attendance information, grades, and important school documents.

Need help accessing Infinite Campus?
Please contact Kim Lake in the Registrar's Office, and she'll be happy to assist you.

🍎Lunch Reminder

Beginning this school year, microwaves will no longer be available for student lunches.

Please send lunches that are ready to eat and do not require warming. This change helps ensure students have enough time to enjoy their meals while allowing cafeteria staff to focus on safely supervising and keeping lunch running smoothly.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

🌼Ways to Help Your Child Have a Great Start

  • Practice morning routines.
  • Read together every day.
  • Encourage independence with dressing and opening lunch items.
  • Arrive at school on time.
  • Talke positively about school.
  • Make bedtime a priority.
  • Label backpacks, coats, and water bottles.
  • Check ParentSquare regularly.
  • Celebrate effort, not perfection.
  • Ask your child about the best part of their day.

📸 Our Garden in Bloom

Our school may be quiet during the summer, but there has been plenty of growing happening behind the scenes! Our teachers and staff have been busy collaborating, planning curriculum, preparing lessons, organizing classrooms, and creating welcoming spaces for our students.

From thoughtful teamwork to fresh classroom setups, our staff has been planting the seeds for a wonderful school year. We can't wait to see our halls filled with students and watch our garden bloom!

We’re ready to plant kindness, grow greatness, and make this a year to remember! 🌱

🌿 Help Us Beautify Our School!

We had hoped to host a School Beautification Day this summer and invite our Winfield families to join us in giving the front of our school a fresh, welcoming look. Unfortunately, with the extreme heat and thunderstorms in the forecast, the weather just isn't cooperating!

We hope to host a community beautification day in the future when the weather is more manageable. For now, we're looking for donations of plants, bushes, and other landscaping materials that we can add to our school grounds.

🌱 Have plants or bushes you'd be willing to donate? We'd love to hear from you!
Every donation, big or small, will help make the entrance to Winfield Primary a more beautiful and welcoming place for our students, families, and community.

Please contact Mrs. Madison at 636-668-8195 or through ParentSquare if you have a donation you'd like to contribute.

Together, we can make our school shine! ❤️🖤

🌼 Until Next Month...

At Winfield Primary, we believe that the strongest schools are build through partnerships with families.

Thank you for planing kindness at home and helping us grow greatness in every child. We can't wait for all the wonderful memories we'll make together this year!
