🌻 A Note from Mrs. Meyer

Happy October, Winfield Primary Families!

It is hard to believe we are already moving through our first quarter! Over the past several weeks, I have loved watching our students settle into routines, build relationships, grow more independent, and become increasingly confident in their learning.

October brings plenty of excitement; from conferences and fall celebrations to seeing the seeds we planted at the beginning of the year really begin to grow.  As always, thank you for partnering with us.  Whether you are volunterring during lunch, supporting attendance, participating in a fundraiser, or simply getting your child to school ready to learn each morning, you are an important part of our Warrior family.

Let's keep planting kindness and growing greatness!🌱

🌿 Planting Seeds of Leadership

🌱 Leader in Me Habit of the Month: Begin With the End in Mind

This month, our students are learningabout Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind.

Four our youngest Warriors, this means learning to  make a plan before we begin.  We want students to start thinking about questions such as: What am I trying to accomplish? What steps will help me get there? What do I want the end result to look like?

🏠 Try It at Home!At home, you can help your child practice Habit 2 by setting a simple goal together.  It might be getting ready for school independently, learning to tie shoes, reading each night, or keeping a bedroom picked up.  Ask, "What is your goal?" and then "What is your plan to get there?"

📚 Read Together This Month
The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle
The spider has a goal and continues working toward it, even when dtractions come her way.  After reading, talk about what the spider wanted to accomplish, what she did to reac her goal, and how having a plan can help us finish what we start.

🌱 Big accomplishments often begin wih a small goal and a plan!

🌺 Blooming Success

🌟 Perfect Attendance = Class Rewards!

Our classes have been working together to earn Perfect Attendance Days! For a day to count, every student AND the teacher must be at school for the entire day, with no late arrivals or early checkouts.

As classes reach attendance milestones, they earn special class rewards.  We love celebrating attendance this way because every student contributes to the success of the entire class!

Extra Recess for 5 days of Perfect Attendance: Mrs. Morgan's 2nd Grade, Mrs. Vanbibber's Kindergarten, Ms. Boschert's 1st Grade, Ms. Hesskamp's 1st Grade, Mrs. Rosenmiller's 2nd Grade, Mrs. Marlock's 2nd Grade, Mrs. Loeffler's 2nd Grade, Ms. Vance's Kinergarten, Ms. Larson's Kindergarten

🎉Congratulations to all of our classes who have already reached a milestone and earned a rewrd! We can't wait to see which classes are blloming next!  📚❤️

Remember: when students are healthy and able to attend, every day at school is another opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

🍁 Coming Soon: No Miss November! 🍁

We’re adding a little extra fun to attendance this November with No Miss November!

Students who have perfect attendance for the entire month of November will earn an invitation to a special No Miss November Celebration with Mrs. Meyer! 🎉

To qualify, students must be at school every day, arrive on time, and stay for the entire school day. This means no absences, late arrivals, or early pick-ups during the month of November.

Our celebration will include music, games, a special treat, and plenty of fall fun as we recognize our Warriors who showed up, stayed all day, and were ready to learn every single day!

🍂 Be Here. Be Ready. Stay All Day. Don’t Miss the Fun!

Every school day, and every minute of that day, matters. Consistent, on-time attendance helps students build strong routines and gives them the greatest opportunity to learn and grow.

We can’t wait to see how many Winfield Primary Warriors can say:
“I had NO MISSES in November!” ⭐

🍎 Thank You, Lunch Volunteers!

We have had some wonderful family and commnity volunteers step in to help during lunch duty, and we cannot say thank you enough!

Lunch is one of the busiest parts of our school day.  An extra set of hands helping students open packages, navigate the cafeteria, clean up, and practice expectations makes a real difference for both our students and staff.

🙋 Want to Join Us?
We would love to welcome more volunteers! If you have some time during the school day and would like to help, use our SignUpGenius below to choose a day that works for you.

Even volunteering for one lunch period helps. Thank you for being willing to jump in and support our Warriors! ❤️

🌻Helping Your Child Grow Independence

One of the greatest gifts we can give young children is the opportunity to discover, "I can do this myself!"

This month, look for small opportunities to let your child take the lead: carrying and unpacking their backpack, opening lunch containers, keeping track of belonging, putting on coats and shoes, cleaning up after themselves, and trying to solve a small problem before an adult steps in.

It may take a little longer. It may not be perfect.  That's okay, that's where the learning happens!

Try replacing "Let me do it" with "Show me what you can try first."🌱

👻🎃 Happy October, Warrior Family! 🎃👻

We are so excited to announce that our first Lunch Attendance Assembly will be held on Friday, October 16th, 2026, during each grade level’s regular lunch time! 🍎🎉
We are thrilled to celebrate all of our amazing students who achieved 100% attendance for the month of September! 🌟👏 Your commitment to being at school every day makes a difference, and we are so proud of you

🚌⭐ Huge shout-out to our bus riders! ⭐🚌
Many of our students have received positive bus referrals for making great choices and showing the Warrior Way while riding the bus. Keep up the amazing work!

🏆🚌 This year, we have also started our Golden Bus Behavior incentive!
Each bus route earns Golden Tickets for positive behavior. The bus with the most tickets can earn a special bus celebration with their bus driver!

🥇 Bus 11 is currently in the lead with 22 Golden Tickets!
They are only 8 tickets away from earning their bus celebration! 🎉🎊
Let’s keep those positive choices and great behaviors going, Warriors! ❤️🖤

As always, please feel free to reach out to the office with any questions or concerns. We appreciate your continued support!

Go Warriors! 🖤❤️

❤️ Counselor Corner: Respect & Boundaries

This month in counselor lessons, we are focusing on respect and creating healthy boundaries! Students are learning what it means to respect people, places, and things, along with how our words and actions impact others.
We are practicing understanding personal space, using a social filter (Think It vs. Say It), and asking permission before taking someone else's belongings or entering their personal space. These skills help students build positive relationships, communicate respectfully, and show kindness throughout the school day.
🏡 How can you practice at home?
  • Encourage your child to ask before borrowing or touching someone else's belongings.
  • Practice recognizing personal space and asking, “Can I have a hug?” or “Can I sit by you?”
  • Talk about the difference between thoughts we can keep to ourselves and words that are kind and helpful to share.
  • Model respectful communication, even when feelings are big!
Together, we can help our Warriors grow into thoughtful, respectful, and caring friends! ❤️🖤
